Gorgeous family of 6 in studio yesterday including two adorable twin girls, how very blessed, a photoshoot to mark their wedding anniversary and a celebration of their love for one another….one man surrounded by 5 beautiful woman, how blessed is he?!
As a professional photographer clients are always asked to sign an agreement before their photoshoot and when clients ask not to have their images published online I respect their wishes.
With this gorgeous dynamic duo this morning, they were absolutely adorable, so well behaved! and lots of spare cuddles for me, it’s always great to meet new families and their amazing children.
Fine art portraits from $375.00 per image. More than just a portrait, wall art for your home of the ones you love.
Just a beautiful family! No easy feat with so many in studio and a lot of editing, what you may ask? ” Photographers secrets!) A “little” extra work but when you get messages like this, nothing is too hard, especially when you love what you do, blessed to be able to create family portraits for today and many years to come. Thank you for allowing me to record a moment in your personal family story.
“Just checked emails. Family photo looks AMAZING?!! LOVE IT!!! Thank you so much. My mum looks great!!! Definitely finalise finalise finalise!!! Thanks!!!”
Over 14 months ago Mr G asked if I could create a portrait for him to celebrate his retirement, well he’s been so busy doing more of what he loves, it’s taken this long to come in!!!! He bought his head dress long ago for this very day. Here’s to a happy retirement.
We are only limited by our imaginations, when books come to life.
10 images all photographed by me. Lil miss’s expression is just perfect for her fine art portrait.
Autumn has officially become one of my favourite seasons!!! Right beside spring, what a great time of year to be out and about, stunning model and incredible colours for this natural light portrait, how gorgeous is she?!!! Gotta love location shoots especially this time of the year.
One of my mottos in life has been, if it’s not fun or at least interesting I’m not doing it!
In my 20’s someone once said “life is just one big party for you, do you think maybe it’s time to be a little more responsible? and take life seriously” Mind you this was before kids working up to 65 hours a weeks, so I burnt the candle at both ends, we are young, we are immortal remember? So I thought maybe I should quieten down a little, let me tell you how depressed I got, my joy for life was leaving me, that was the worst 3 weeks of my life and I never listened to anyones opinion again. Live life, laugh, do what makes you happy keeping in mind not to hurt others in the process, you get one shot as far as I know make it awesome. A smile suites me way better than a serious look.
A big thank you to my friend and fellow photographer for not only having fun during his shoot but allowing me to share these with you. I especially love duck face! 50% of his sitting were all along the lines of this! And this is why I love my job, I can adapt to all kinds of crazy and “normal” and somewhat in between. Happy Days
This image of this gorgeous girl was taken back in August 2012 while I was growing, learning to see differently, my own self directed learning, how does one learn? practice, practice, practice until you can see what stays in and what gets left out oh and all the other elements that go into a beautiful portrait, it is a never ending wonderful journey of discovery, today I decided to re edit with Photoshops skills I have learnt over the last few year, a great foundation with formal training and then hours and hours of self directing learning, i have to say it’s so easy to forget so a little brush up exercise on beauty retouching best be included on my to do list while I am working on other areas in photography. It’s really is great to go back every now and then be grateful of how far I have come and looking forward to the continuing journey ahead, Funny that I studied for 2 years at diploma level, I only intended to go in and learn a bit more lighting and photoshop, Its amazing how much more I have learnt to see through a little square, not only externally but internally and that’s what make me love photography even more.
THE IMPORTANCE OF A PROFESSIONAL HEADSHOT
It’s not ‘just’ a Headshot!
With social media and our online presence playing such a huge role today in the success of our businesses, it is now more important than ever to be seen often, and in the best possible light.
Quite simply a great Headshot should look like you at your absolute best without being a glamour shot. (unless that’s what you want of course).
The right balance of ensuring you look your best while ensuring the images remain very natural. It is very important that your shots look like you when you meet your clients.
Beginning with a consultation, we get to know each other, I get to know you, who you are and what you do, from here the shoot ideas begin discussing aiming at your shoot to best suit your style and needs.
My passion while creating your headshot is always the same, whether you are a fashion designer or CEO and everything in between, I take great care and skill to create for you the best possible Headshots and make your personal and business photographic branding simply you.
Through coaching and directing you properly throughout the shoot keeping in mind our discussed end result ensuring this make your experience in front of the camera enjoyable, fun and relaxed and enabling your very best photo’s to be easily captured. To create beautiful images we must see them before we shoot.
I shoot using the highest quality cameras and lenses so you can be sure our photography is produced to the highest possible standard while always maintaining a relaxed and fun environment so the best photographs can be captured quickly and with a minimum of fuss.
Retouching is all part of my service,.
No filters and no shortcuts using advanced Photoshop skills,, all our images are finished by hand, subtle skin smoothing, colour correction and adjustments, I place great pride on how your final images are presented to you.
Home based studio on Taylors Hill, Melbourne you have the option of White, Grey or black background along with the right lighting to suit you, keeping it natural and real, Natural light is also available.
Natural light on location, are also lots of fun and a bit more spontaneous which can really help produce a great looking headshot, this kind of headshot can be less static and a little more down to earth if that is what you prefer.
Natural light has a beautiful and soft quality about it, using your environment also ensures that your images are unique and reflects your company and this makes your image pop.
Q. What do I wear?
A. Wardrobe choice is an important part of a successful Headshot and can give your shots that little bit of edge. As a general rule darker colours and simple necklines are better and it is good to keep it as simple as possible. It is good however to consider a few different looks for more specific personalities and services. When using a colour headshot try wearing colours that work well with your skin tone and eye colour. You will be surprised how much difference certain colours will make your shots really stand out.
Lastly think about items of clothing that you love wearing and make you feel great and bring them to your headshot session. A favourite jacket, scarve, shirt or jumper etc will inject a bit of your own personal style into the shot and ensure your headshots show you looking and feeling great.
Q. DO I NEED A MAKEUP ARTIST FOR MY PHOTO SHOOT?
A.People often ask whether they need a makeup artist and really there is no set rule. My experience has found that to get the best headshot and have a great shoot its best to leave nothing to chance so if your budget permits it is a great idea to have a professional do it for you. The right balance of making you look your best while ensuring the shots remain very natural. It is very important that your shots look like you. A professional hair stylist should also be considered for the very same reason.

There days I just want to play like a child, think like a child and colour outside the lines. Allowing myself this gives me peace by just playing. A great way to fly off into the compass of the mind, through away what overwhelms and learn my way back to inner quiet. I was not striving for perfection or an award with this image, just going with the flow.
I met this lovely man about 3 years ago at Bradmills, Yarraville, selling his winemaking grapes, I spotted him for a distance pulled up and went over and had a chat, he was from Adelaide. I asked if i could take his photo and he put of a little show, I have 4 great images of this lovely bloke, always great when people laugh and have fun and don’t take it serious. We said our good byes, I thanked him, he gave me a bag of grapes for my ride home, sweet.
