The human body is a work of art, as a woman photography, tasteful and sweet is my aim, i love these flowers, they live in my front garden, i love how i planted a few years ago, some died and then they have sprung up in different parts of it. It’s been an amazing week of creating fine art, just from one shoot i have been inspired so much, keep some for later.

Haa, Bhutan

Haa_Bhutan_Silvia Tomarchio Photography

By far my favourite place in Bhutan, a small village closer to India, where beautiful people go about their day to day life, for a traveller like me, extraordinary moments. Meeting locals will always make a place I visit extra special.

Laugh and the world laughs with you…

Fun_Silvia Tomarchio Photography_Portrait_Taylors Hill_Melbourne

One of my mottos in life has been, if it’s not fun or at least interesting I’m not doing it!

In my 20’s someone once said “life is just one big party for you, do you think maybe it’s time to be a little more responsible? and take life seriously” Mind you this was before kids working up to 65 hours a weeks, so I burnt the candle at both ends, we are young, we are immortal remember? So I thought maybe I should quieten down a little, let me tell you how depressed I got, my joy for life was leaving me, that was the worst 3 weeks of my life and I never listened to anyones opinion again. Live life, laugh, do what makes you happy keeping in mind not to hurt others in the process, you get one shot as far as I know make it  awesome. A smile suites me way better than a serious look.

A big thank you to my friend and fellow photographer for not only having fun during his shoot but allowing me to share these with you. I especially love duck face! 50% of his sitting were all along the lines of this! And this is why I love my job, I can adapt to all kinds of crazy and “normal” and somewhat in between. Happy Days

The not so corporate portrait.

Corporate photography_Taylors HIll_Portrait_Fine art_silvtom67@gmail.com.You are never too young to have your “corporate” portrait. A fun shoot this afternoon, the aim was a 3 different looks and they are all look fantastic, a great head start knowing the importance of a professional headshot.First impressions are so important and I know that any employer with instantly see that he is a winner. This young man works a part time job while finishing off school, next year he plans to start his study in the world of media. With this in mind a little more fine art editing for his final image and this is my personal favourite, simple and classy with a little edge. I have no doubt this confident  young man will do well, all the very best to you in your future.

Winemaker

There days I just want to play like a child, think like a child and colour outside the lines. Allowing myself this gives me peace by just playing. A great way to fly off into the compass of the mind, through away what overwhelms and learn my way back to inner quiet. I was not striving for perfection or an award with this image, just going with the flow.

I met this lovely man about 3 years ago at Bradmills, Yarraville, selling his winemaking grapes, I spotted him for a distance pulled up and went over and had a chat, he was from Adelaide. I asked if i could take his photo and he put of a little show, I have 4 great images of this lovely bloke, always great when people laugh and have fun and don’t take it serious. We said our good byes, I thanked him, he gave me a bag of grapes for my ride home, sweet.

Big Brown Eyes, Kolkata

silvia tomarchio photography_kolkata_India_boy in a car.jpg

There was something about those big brown eyes that had me in a trance, for more than just a moment, long before I clicked the shutter, time stood still, he appeared as an unfinished painting, blurred, and everything around him disappeared even sound. A sense of Deja’ vu or was it an image I have already seen locked in my subconscious mind? I was so fixed on his eyes I didn’t notice the driver until I uploaded the image on my laptop, we really do see what we want to see, what captures our soul and delights our heart in the moment.

I love those cars that flood the streets of Kolkata.

After 19 hours of travel time I was a little spaced out, who knows, I only got to spend about 5 hours in Kolkata, the plan was to spend a day at the end of my trip. It’s so easy to get lost in India, going with the flow, moving every few days by train that I nearly ended up in Pakistan! With only a few days left it was easier to get back to Delhi to fly to Kolkata to fly home, I knew I had to catch that flight book or i would have got lost for longer.
