Well do you?
I have been wanting to do this Millionaire walk for nearly 2 years now, I had a look on google maps and although i was quite confident i figured it out, i emailed Mornington Peninsula Website just to be sure, they were great and called me the next day, so I got to Lentell Avenue, Sorrento, there were already two togs up on the wall, saying hey you missed the sunrise and assuring me it was safe enough to get up along the wall, well my aim today was to photograph the piers, tick! So i couldn’t figure out where the walk started from so i got in the car and went to Point King road and from there off i went, the walk is about 1.5km return, fairly easy, scary dog half way, so if you go all the way you will end up at Lentell Avenue, it looks like a private gate. I didn’t photograph any of the houses as it was their back yard. Absolutely stunning! I did have a few favourites. So do I want to be a millionaire? mmmm. I would sure love a view like that, although I’m a simple creature, less is more, minimalist and don’t fancy possessions owning me, but hey you never know., something might change my mind, image all the good I could do. I read an short article last week where a bloke decided what he was going to live on $$$$ for the rest of his life regardless of inflation and the rest he gave away, imagine a world like that! That definitely sounds like a great plan, oh one day, a nice little shack by the beach, with lots of light and studio space and a view of the ocean. Really was a peaceful day, i even forgot I was cold. I only had a few hours then a great day with friends, food and a good laugh, what else is there?! Delgany Castle, Sorrento, Victoria, Australia
A great day out, connecting both bays, Queens Cliff looking over to the Mornington Peninsula, I didn’t realise how close, 45 minute crossing with Searoad Ferries.
I thought i would share with you my work flow, or my selection process, these images were taken late 2015 and I have only ever shared one, Like most photographers i am emotionally attached to my images, the sites, the sounds, the feelings of the day so sometimes it makes it really hard to choose my best, I usually do a quick view, quite often stopping at the one that jumps out without looking at the rest, excited much?! I always upload as soon as i get in, the few times I haven’t somehow they have been lost, Mystery! Although not happened lately, but that’s another story. Time frame here about two hours, walking, looking, smiling, shooting, sitting and watching and of course playing around with the water. Having a right ol giggle with the beach to myself, who knows i may be posted as someone else’s random, looking like a nutter, waves crashing in and lifting up the tripod. I remember when i first started I just about shared everything, a little tougher on myself these days and need to get harsher and if i only get one image on the day, that is satisfying enough, it’s more than a shoot, its my way of life, what brings me peace and joy. Photography makes me travel, travel makes me photograph, I love the randoms I meet , my 10 minute friendships, funny how strangers can share so much, Or the really quiet days just focusing on what i see while everything else just melts away, heaven.
A view of Monforts Beach, Blairgowrie from Spray point, it sure was windy, There’s that little Bunny Rock, way out into the distance.
After a great day out, we grabbed some fish and chips and had a picnic and watched the waves. Teasing the seagulls of course, See those two kids all the way in the distance in line with the pier? my crazy ones, I had to get my boots off and go get them, kids! no fear, makes my heart race!
